Ebenezer Scrooze, Esq.: Still Hates Christmas

Just in time for Christmas, Ebenezer Scrooge returns to television nationwide in "Scrooge & Marley." This dramatic comedy and modern parable from Coral Ridge Ministries airs Christmas Eve or Christmas Day on 89 stations during prime-time or prime-access hours in a syndication available to 75 million households. The one-hour film production will also air December 29-30 during "The Coral Ridge Hour," which is carried by more than 200 stations.

In this reprise of Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol, old Scrooge's long-standing hatred for Christmas boils over at the sight of a manger display resting in front of City Hall. "Enjoy it! It's your last Christmas!" he snarls at the baby Jesus, just before he bursts into the mayor's office to announce his intention to sue.

For Ebenezer Scrooge, Esq., played by actor Dean Jones, nothing could be better than a world without Christmas. Even better, he muses, drink in hand, a world in which Jesus had never been born. But the surprise appearance of long-dead law partner Jacob Marley, played by Reg Grant, challenges Scrooge's dark view of Christ and Christmas. And with help from 'expert witness' D. James Kennedy, Ph.D., Marley piles up the evidence for Christ's transformational impact on the world.
