Gosnell Sentenced to 30 Years on Drug Charges

Kermit Gosnell has been sentenced to thirty years in prison for illegally dispensing prescription drugs, LifeSiteNews reports. This sentence is in addition to the three consecutive life sentences Gosnell is already serving for murdering at least three newborns at his “house of horrors” abortion clinic.

In July, Gosnell entered a guilty plea to running a prescription drug operation. According the LifeSiteNews, patients at his “pain management center” paid him $20 for each prescription of highly addictive drugs such as OxyContin, Percocet or Xanax. They also tipped his employees an additional $10 to $20 for the prescriptions.

According to prosecutors, Gosnell made at least $200,000 in his “pill mill.” Though he pleaded guilty, Gosnell defends his actions, saying “These are hard economic times,” in an interview with Philadelphia Magazine’s Steve Volk. “These people need their pills.”

A mostly “pro-choice” jury found Gosnell guilty of murder and infanticide in May, though Gosnell maintains he is in jail due to Catholic pro-life bias
