Colorado wildfires

Focus on the Family joined with other community organizations in Colorado Springs to put on a benefit concert to help the thousands of people affected by the wildfires.

Progress was seen over the weekend, as cooler temperatures and higher humidity buoyed hopes that full containment of the Colorado wildfires might be just days away. In the midst of the devastation, the element of faith in America’s unofficial “evangelical capital” is receiving attention.

Seven wildfires presently rage through the state of Colorado. While more than 1,000 firefighters are working to contain the 15,517-acre blaze, the Christian community has elevated its relief efforts in response to massive evacuations and devastation.

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team is in Colorado and New Mexico as wildfires continue to affect large regions in the nation's west.

Firefighters are battling inferno-like conditions to try to tame an explosive wildfire that has already displaced 32,000 residents from their homes near Colorado Springs, Colo., including more than 2,000 who live at the Air Force Academy.
